Julia Milbrandt is a visual artist and printmaker from Buffalo, New York, currently working and living in Cleveland, Ohio. She received her BFA in Drawing and Printmaking from the Cleveland Institute of Art in 2019. Her work has been shown regionally at institutions including Reinberger Gallery, Praxis Fiber Workshop, the Morgan Conservatory, and the Gordon Square Arts District office at 78th Street Studios in Cleveland, OH and the Western New York Book Arts Center in Buffalo, NY. She has also been featured in Canvas Cleveland magazine, the Mid America Print Council Journal and CAN Journal. Julia is the recipient of awards including the Second Agnes Gund Memorial Traveling Scholarship, the Sybil J. Gould Scholarship for Excellence in Drawing and Graphic Arts, The Julian Stanczak ’54 Scholarship and the Gund Family Scholarship from the Cleveland Institute of Art. She also received a grant from the Cleveland Foundation through the Creativity Works internship program while at CIA, which she used to put on her first solo exhibition in 2018. Julia currently works as the Preparator for the Progressive Art Collection in Cleveland and serves as an Artist in Residence in the Printmaking department at the Cleveland Institute of Art.
